Music  is found in every known culture, past and present, varying widely between times and places. Since all people of the world, including the most isolated tribal groups, have a form of music, it may be concluded that music is likely to have been present in the ancestral population prior to the dispersal of humans around the world. Consequently, the first music may have been invented in Africa and then evolved to become a fundamental constituent of human life. WARRI— IJAW Female Graduate Association of Nigeria, has called on leaders of Ijaw nation to encourage educational pursuit of the Ijaw girl child. President of the body, Mrs Ebiakpo Obanyedo, made the call, when members of the group paid a courtesy visit on the Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area of the state, Mr Godknows Angele. She said “The lack of adequate campaign and advocacy for the protection and promotion of the Ijaw Girl-child’s right to education over the years has brought about the decline in the educational participation of more Ijaw Girl-child across the creeks of the Niger Delta Region, that has affected the non-enrolment, early drop out from school among other social vices which has deprived a lot of them their place of value in the family, and society.

Abuja, July 24, 2019(NAN) Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, a ministerial nominee from Ebonyi, says Nigeria has made giant strides in science and technology innovation development in the last four years of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration. Onu said this on Wednesday in Abuja while responding to questions from senators at the ongoing screening of ministerial nominees by the Senate. Onu He said that the Ministry of Science and Technology in the last four years had been able to increase awareness of Nigerians on the importance of technology to nation building. He said that the Federal Government was moving the economy from a commodity based economy to a science based knowledge economy. Beneficiaries of the amnesty are already undergoing training says Ganagana

ASABA​ —Special Assistant, Media, to the Coordinator, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Prof Charles Dokubo,   Mr Murphy Ganagana, has said that 458 beneficiaries of the Presidential Amnesty Programme are currently undergoing vocational training in various skills. In a statement, yesterday, he said “The training conducted by specialised partners in Lagos, Bayelsa, Delta, Ondo, Imo and Rivers states, will last between six to nine months. Beneficiaries are being trained in tailoring and fashion design; installation and maintenance of tricycles, transformer repairs and maintenance, shoe making, as well as fish farming. “Among them are 200 beneficiaries who commenced nine-month training in transformer repairs and maintenance July 3, 2019, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and are expected to graduate April, next year. A breakdown of the trade areas of the 458 beneficiaries showed that 44 are training in installation and maintenance of tricycles; 62 in tailoring and fashion ...
